Laying the Foundations for the FutureAfter breaking ground in 1979 with the purpose of producing indigenous engines and trucks, the Inonu Factory began production in 1982. The factory officially opened on July 7, 1986.

The Series That Made Their Mark on HistoryIn 1985, production started on the Cargo series trucks with Dovertech engines. The Cargo 1812 model was produced between 1985 and 1998. In 1998, it was replaced by the Cargo 98MY, which was produced until 2003.

100% Indigenous Ecotorq EngineIn 2003, production started for the H298 series Cargo trucks, as well as the 100% indigenous 7.3 L Ecotorq engine with power values of 260 PS/320 PS/360 PS/380 PS, a result of 100% Ford Engineering. The Cargo product range continued to expand with the addition of the H476 series, a 100% indigenous 9.0 L Ecotorq engine and the road trucks.

Global Vision, Competitive ProductsIn 2010, the new Construction Series was introduced to the market in phases and production began for the Ecotorq Euro5 engine. In 2012, in line with the expectations of customers dealing with domestic or international transport, the Ford Trucks 1846T Tractor with 460 PS / 2100 Nm engine power was produced and released, offering the most competitive power and torque in its segment even at low engine speeds.

From Asia Minor to Asia MajorIn 2013, a technology license agreement was signed with JMC Heavy Duty Vehicle Co., Ltd. Under the agreement, Ecotorq engine production began for JMC vehicles in China, the world’s biggest truck market.

Ford Otosan Inonu FactoryThe factory covers an external area of 1.1 million sqm open and an internal area of 90,000 sqm and produces high-quality Ford Trucks, Ford Tractors and Ecotorq engines. The academy, which opened in 2015, combines the culture and expertise of Ford Trucks with personal development. The efficiency of the training is always being improved through classroom training, e-training, renewal training, workshop applications and video training. Training is geared to individual needs according to level of expertise and knowledge. Training is moderated by experienced internal and external instructors that are familiar with Ford’s corporate culture. Personal training, competency performances and their effects on performance are monitored through the Ford Training Management System (FODDERS).
